The beautiful chateau of Hautefort is well worth a visit and only 8km away and there are also restaurants, a few shops, a post office and Supermarket. The market town of Excideuil, also about 8km away has a chateau and pharmacies, post office, banks, shops, coffee shops and restaurants and the ancient town of Perigueux, the capital of Dordogne, with its abundance of restaurants and shops is only 35km away.
This area is also famous for its rich cuisine of truffles, foie gras, duck and walnuts with many of the local restaurants offering such delicacies. An exceptional private chef can also be arranged to come to the house to cook anything from an informal barbecue to a more formal 4 course meal.
There are a choice of airports to fly to with Brive (45mins), Bergerac( 1 hour 15 mins), Limoges(1 hour 15 mins) or Bordeaux (2 hours).
